Homemade Lasagna recipe

Classic Lasagna with bolognese sauce


  • 1 pound lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

This recipe serves 8 people.

Instructions Homemade Lasagna recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese, eggs, basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread a small amount of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange a single layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread a thin layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layering with the remaining noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Allow the lasagna to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

To dress it up and make it beautiful, consider adding some fresh herbs or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top before serving.
