Chicken Noodle Casserole recipe

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Preparation time: 20 minutes Cooking time: 45 minutes Total time: 1 hour 5 minutes Serves: 6-8 people


  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions for Chicken Noodle Casserole recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in cooked noodles, shredded chicken, and shredded cheese.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of the casserole.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

To dress it up:

  • You can garnish it with chopped parsley or chives before serving.
  • You can also top it with extra cheese or breadcrumbs before baking for a crispy top.
