Here is a recipe for classic meatloaf:

Preparation time: 15 minutes Cooking time: 1 hour Total time: 1 hour 15 minutes Serves: 6-8


  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions for Best Meatloaf recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well with your hands.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down firmly.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake the meatloaf for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

To dress up the meatloaf, you can try one of the following options:

  • Brush the top with additional ketchup or BBQ sauce before baking
  • Top with crispy bacon before baking
  • Add sliced cheese on top for the last 5 minutes of baking
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or chives before serving
