Chicken Noodle Casserole

- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions for Chicken Noodle Casserole recipe:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cooked noodles, shredded chicken, and shredded cheese.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of the casserole.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
To dress it up:
- You can garnish it with chopped parsley or chives before serving.
- You can also top it with extra cheese or breadcrumbs before baking for a crispy top.
