Korean Barbecue-Style Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef or pork
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons minced green onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions for Korean Barbecue-Style Meatballs recipe:

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef or pork, breadcrumbs, green onion, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, salt, and egg. Mix well.
  2. Roll mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs.
  3. Place flour in a shallow dish. Roll meatballs in flour to coat.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Serve with steamed rice and your favorite Korean barbecue sauce.
  6. To dress it up, you can garnish it with sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onions.
