Tater Tot Casserole Recipe

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions for Tater Tot Casserole recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, shredded cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Add the beef mixture to the bowl and stir until well combined.
  5. Spread the tater tots in an even layer in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Pour the beef mixture over the tater tots, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the casserole is heated through.

To dress it up:

  • Add some chopped fresh parsley or chives on top before serving.
  • You can also add some diced tomatoes or sliced jalapenos on top for a little extra flavor and color.
