Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 buns, toasted
Instructions for Sloppy Joes recipe:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain the excess fat.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet and sauté for a few minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for 5-10 minutes, or until thickened.
- Split the buns and toast them.
- Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
To dress it up, you can garnish with some shredded lettuce, sliced pickles, or cheese.
